STONEMAN'S CHURCHILL at 70
Walter Stoneman (1876-1958) regularly photographed Winston Churchill for the eminent portrait firm J. Russell & Sons. Churchill frequently used Stoneman's bust-length portraits  as his official photographs. On 1 April 1941, however, Stoneman captured his subject in full.

THE STATE FUNERAL OF WINSTON CHURCHILL

Winston Churchill died at his London home, 28 Hyde Park Gate, on 24 January 1965, a Sunday morning, shortly after eight o’clock, at the age of 90; exactly seventy years to the day of his father’s death. His State Funeral on January 30 was one of the grandest and most poignant in English history.
